The word on the street is that one month ago, Chino McGregor, and beauty queen girlfriend, Yendi Phillipps, have broken up over alleged infidelities, but not by CHINO, mi hear say ah him suspect say ants inna him milk and ah search through phone so SHE KICK HIM OUTTA THE HOUSE.

After this big much-publicised pregnancy, which was announced via social media, how this one ah go play out over Facebook? Mi hear say Yendi throw him outta the house. Reports reaching THE WEEKEND STAR are that dancehall artiste Chino, whose real name is Daniel McGregor, and his beauty queen girlfriend, Yendi Phillipps, have called it quits on their relationship.

After a much-publicised pregnancy, which was announced via social media, the relationship between the two has seemingly come to an end.


Sources close to the couple have confirmed with THE WEEKEND STAR that the two are no longer an item.


Both parties were given a chance to comment on the matter recently and they didn't confirm or the deny the speculation.


Rumours about the couple's split began circulating late last year, but when THE WEEKEND STAR approached them about the issue, the couple didn't say much.


"Where did you get that information from? I am in the middle of something right now and I cannot comment on that," Chino said before hanging up his phone.


Former Miss Jamaica World (2007) and Miss Jamaica Universe (2010) Phillipps didn't take up our offer to comment on the split but stated that she was not interested in talking about her personal life with the press.


"I want you to stop using my number to ask me stupid things," the beauty queen said.


In 2012, just months after announcing Phillipp's pregnancy, Chino also released a track titled Miss Universe, seemingly dedicated to his then baby- mother.


Phillipps also set tongues wagging after she was seen on the popular morning show, Smile Jamaica, sporting what appeared to her fans to be an engagement ring.


With reports that the couple had split, THE WEEKEND STAR perused their Instagram pages where it was revealed that they were not following each other. Images which previously showcased the couple in happier times had also been removed.


The couple welcomed a daughter in September 2012.

Yendi Phillips – beauty and brains

Born on the 8th of September 1985, this 27 year old Kingstonian is dubbed one of Jamaica’s magnificent women. Yendi Amira Phillips is a dancer, model, television personality and actress and throughout these many art forms, she has won the heart of those with whom she has come in contact.In 2007 she was crowned Miss Jamaica World and represented Jamaica in the Miss World contest in Sanya, China.

Her participation in Pageants was her stepping stone for other modelling and commercials offers and she took the contract with Toyota and Pepsi in the United States of America and Sprite in India. In addition, she has been featured in many magazines including Caribbean Beat, Women and Home, Fair Lady, Basia among others and has been on an episode of America’s Next Top Model. This overachiever has hosted television shows inclusive of Smile Jamaica and Digicel Rising Stars.

Her social life has had her interacted with many walks of life, and dated many renowned celebrities like one of Jamaican’s fastest, Asafa Powell and Dancehall singer/songwriter Daniel ‘Chino’ McGregor, with whom she has a beautiful baby girl, Israel. Although she has been ‘knocked down’ by onlookers as to her ‘out of wedlock’ pregnancy, she still lives by the example and morals of those instilled by her deceased mother and her Christian values.

Needless to say she has many supporters extremely proud of her and they had deemed her a role model for generations to come based on her achievements and contribution to Jamaica and the rest of the world.
Yendi is a vivacious, bubbly, and optimistic person – and her magnificent personality and smile attracts anyone in the room. Her charming deposition has gained for her much support in both her modelling and television personality careers and her role as mother.
In an interview after the Miss Jamaica World 2007, Yendi said, “I also believe that the Miss Jamaica Pageant will give me somewhat of a boost in this direction, as from it, I aim to learn about this industry, learn about how I can further present positive change in my country, and ultimately continue to grow and learn about myself and life, and all that I have to offer and all that my country and the world has to offer to me.”
With this mindset, Phillips is a trendsetter and she has paved a path for upcoming models and her many contributions have made a positive impact to the Jamaican people. Although people disagree with certain aspects of her life she is still nonetheless one of the most respected women in the Caribbean.

Here is another suggestion for her. If she is hung up on guys with locks (not my thing but if it floats her boat) how about Dustin Brown. He has energy, he is ambitious, he expesses himself well. Dustin is one year older than Yendi. He has a bubbly personality, which is a good match for Yendi who is also bubbly.
